North Bay Flower Collective and exciting Chica Bloom News!

Hello local sustainable flower lovers! This is just a quick note to officially announce that Chica Bloom Farm is proud to be part of the North Bay Flower Collective, an alliance of flower growers and floral designers in the North San Francisco Bay Area with a fierce dedication to the slow flowers movement. Along with our fellow Collective members,  we are champions of locally grown flowers and sustainable design, lovers of the natural world, community, and generosity. The Collective allows us to  share resources, support, and educational opportunities while implementing environmentally and socially responsible practices to build a thriving floral economy. Our mission is to work together to build a strong and beautiful alliance where locally grown flowers are celebrated and each member can grow and thrive.

And in other news:

After five marvelous seasons growing flowers at our “brother” farm, First Light in Petaluma, we are thrilled to be moving to our own property in neighboring Sebastopol!  We are so grateful for our relationship with First Light and the opportunity they provided us to help “incubate” our little flower farm business!  Now it’s time to move onto to our land where we can dig in and start to grow roots (literally!) for many years to come.

This season (2016) we are establishing our infrastructure and building up our soil and perennials, but we are also growing our favorite annuals and reaching out to the rest of our North Bay flower community to continue to provide fresh, local and sustainable grown flowers for your weddings and events. We are also continuing our weekly CSA deliveries to businesses in Petaluma and West Sonoma County.  However, we won’t be able to accommodate farm visits at this time.

Like the flowers we nurture every year, we are excited to see how our evolving business blooms and develops over this next season and we hope you will stay tuned too!
